        Monday, January 24th, 2011

Assisted Recovery Alcholol and Drug Rehab Channel 5 Cover Story on Vivitrol ARCA Midwest (Assisted Recovery Centers of America) is one of the first facilities in St. Louis to offer VIVITROL®, an injectable form of naltrexone, to treat alcohol dependence. With VIVITROL, you don’t have to take medicine for your alcohol dependence every day. That means more time for you to focus on your successes, your goals, and your recovery. Proven Support for Recovery: Safe, proven medications virtually eliminate withdrawal symptoms and cravings, greatly improving treatment success. Alcohol and narcotics damage the brains pleasure system, producing the overwhelming cravings of addiction. This chemical imbalance can be corrected with medication. FDA-approved drugs such as Suboxone® (buprenorphine) relieve withdrawal symptoms, while Vivitrol®, ReVia® (naltrexone) control cravings. Other promising medications include Zofran® (ondansetron) and Topamax® (topiramate). Unlike older alternatives, these treatments are non-mood altering, non-addictive and have few side effects. Most patients take anti-craving medications for three to six months and continue counseling for up to one year. Freed from physical discomforts, you can focus on relapse-prevention counseling and long-term recovery. Best of all, you can undertake this treatment on an outpatient basis. Anti-craving medications can generally be taken along with treatments for mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and post

How has growing up with an alcoholic parent affected us?

          Friday, October 29th, 2010

I’ve spent some time online searching for blogs where people talk about the effects that growing up in an alcoholic home had on them, and there’s not much. For this reason I’ve decided to record my own, as a venting tool I guess, maybe inspiring others to do the same. Growing up in that environment had its moments, and it’s good to recal those shitty memories in determining how it has affected you as an adult.

xBrzz has a Bad Temper :S alcohol ism ness

            Friday, June 18th, 2010

somebody blew a fuse =D just wanted to post this because I think its a funny story. www.youtube.com I think alot of the problems in this world can be sorted out by people admitting there wrong. if xbrzz read the messages i wrote he would probably think differently about this, im happy to say there was almost no point in me saying chesney didn’t drink 8 bottles and a couple of shots before the video. its just lies to make yourself look cool over the internet is a hot topic for me. im not saying he defiantly didn’t because i dont know him and if he did well done he has the liver of george best. joke. but seriously look up that story. oh and if you don’t drink your not gay or a woman, I barely ever drink. I understand if you hate on this video because looking like an alcoholic will make you look cool on the internet, and you cant have people across the internet thinking your uncool now can you? if you agree with alcoholism then dislike the video by all means, i just think there’s more to life than 8 bottles and a couple of shots BEFORE going out. this isn’t an anti alcohol video, there’s no problem with drink alcohol its just the sheer amounts that become a problem. i49.tinypic.com i49.tinypic.com i49.tinypic.com i49.tinypic.com
